The methodological basis of the research is the systematic approach, which makes it possible to determine the effectiveness of the functioning of the innovation system in the digitalization conditionsas a quantity qualitatively and quantitatively greater than the effectiveness of the sum of its components, to investigate the interrelationships of the system elements and the possibilities of its development, taking into account changes in the external environment. The principles of innovative development of economic systems in conditions of digitalization are highlighted, which include adaptability, creativity and digital transformation. It has been proven that the majority of innovative processes use non-linear methods of innovative development due to the formation of network systems, the development of new global markets and the use of digital technologies. The general factors restraining the innovative development of economic systems in the digitalization conditions are singled out. The need for the formation of an innovative system based on the principles of digitalization and the main approaches to its formation, which adhere to the principles of its development, are substantiated.</p>
ARTICLEtruehttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.032024-04-09T00:00:00.000+00:00The Influence of the US Stock Market on the Institutional Security Strategy of the Management of Innovative Developmenthttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.11
<title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> <p>The innovative development of the USA is a complex process and includes many industries and sectors of the economy. The stock market has an unbridled influence on innovation. The current institutional security strategy of innovation development management depends on how effective the stock market is. The article reveals the cyclical growth of the US stock market, the regularity of changes and interdependence of cycles, as well as a decrease in the duration of the corresponding cycles through the intensification of regulation by the US government.</p> <p>The article considers a hypothesis about the accelerating growth of the US stock market. This hypothesis has a right to exist due to the emergence of significant growth factors in the relevant market in recent years. The list of these factors has been clarified. The study of the corresponding hypothesis was carried out by assessing the dynamics of the S &amp; P500 stock index over a distance of 80 years.</p> <p>It has been determined that stock market growth hypothesis is confirmed only at 40-year intervals. At shorter time intervals, the corresponding hypothesis has not been confirmed.</p> <p>The conclusions obtained in the article and the proposed methodology for the analysis of the US stock market will be useful for the formation of a state policy strategy for increasing the institutional security of the country’s innovative development management.</p>
ARTICLEtruehttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.112024-04-09T00:00:00.000+00:00Evaluating the Capacity of the Domestic Food Market in Ukraine in the Pre-War Periodhttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.10
<title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> <p>The article examines the peculiarities of the development and realization of the capacity of the domestic consumer market by identifying its structural components. It defines the key trends in the development of the domestic market capacity in 2015 - 2021, including the annual increase in the expenses of trade enterprises on logistics for the growing volume of sales; the growing share of inventories in wholesale and retail trade, which confirms the inefficiency of the policy of market infrastructure development; unstable dynamics of return on investments and innovations, increasing profitability of economic activities of manufacturing entities. The article aims to evaluate the components (production, resources, consumption, and environment) of the capacity of the domestic food market in order to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the development and maintenance of its competitiveness. The evaluation of the realization of the domestic food market capacity by its components shows that the integral index of the consumer capacity is the highest, and it significantly increased in 2021 compared to 2015. Despite the fact that the consumption of consumer goods is growing, it cannot be interpreted as an exclusively positive phenomenon since the problem of property stratification of the society and the growing poverty of some segments of the population has never lost its relevance in Ukraine. The results of calculations of the weighted integral parameter show that the efficiency of management of the domestic market economic capacity in Ukraine was different in different studied periods. It emphasizes the necessity of public regulation of a number of market processes related to food products. The article identifies the positive growth of the integral parameter of efficiency of management of the domestic market economic capacity in Ukraine at the end of the studied period.</p>
ARTICLEtruehttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.102024-04-09T00:00:00.000+00:00Formation of the Management Mechanism of the Corporate Social Responsibility of the Enterprisehttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.09
<title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> <p>The necessity and relevance of the formation of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) management mechanism of the enterprise is caused by the loss of stability of economic development due to the pandemic, the deepening of the asymmetry of socio-economic development between territories, the aggravation of competitive relations in the market, the weakening of socio-cultural and moral and ethical principles in the business sector activities, the aggravation of environmental problems, etc. The purpose of the research is to justify the principles of the formation of the management mechanism of the CSR of the enterprise in the conditions of sustainable development. It is proved that the formation of the management mechanism of the CSR requires the observance of certain specific principles supplemented by their functionalities. However, even if it is recognised that resources are limited and that the linear model is no longer viable, the tourism industry as a whole has not shown a clear and decisive shift towards a more circular tourism model. And it is circular economy solutions and circular economy principles applied in the tourism sector that would allow changing trends and reduce the use of natural resources, waste, and CO2 emissions. The aim of the research is to investigate the peculiarities of the application of circular economy principles in the tourism sector. The research was carried out in 12 establishments in the tourism sector using the qualitative research method of interviews. During the research, it was found that the “Reduce-Repeat-Recycle” (3R) principle is mostly applied in establishments providing hospitality and accommodation services based on the principles of the circular economy. The principles of the circular economy are applied in order to promote sustainability, solve environmental problems, optimize the use of resources, and reduce waste. However, despite the obvious benefits of circular economy practices, establishments also face challenges in their implementation.</p>
ARTICLEtruehttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.042024-04-09T00:00:00.000+00:00Tools of the State Business Support in the Context of Sustainable Developmenthttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.02
<title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> <p>The meta-statistics cover the following main aspects of the government’s policy of promoting entrepreneurship and other related instruments in the current economic development context. This study covers the problem raising from the pandemic crisis affected tourism sector and caused economic downturn with the aim to evaluate the relationship between tourism and economic growth to find out if the support of the Baltic States’ tourism may contribute to economic growth and whether it may be a possible tool to revive the economy that has declined by the crisis as the COVID-19 pandemic. Besides a plenty of research investigating tourism and economic growth, this study is carried out to fill the research gap of the relationship between these two factors in the Baltic States. Performing correlation analysis, data of three Baltic countries – Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia – from the period 2009-2018 are integrated. Tourism is expressed by expenditure while economic growth is measured by GDP and employment rates. The results reveal statistically significant relationship between tourism and economic growth in Lithuania and in Estonia. In Latvia, no statistically significant results were found. As in Lithuania and Estonia tourism and economy has a strong positive relationship, tourism here could be considered as a possible tool to stimulate the economic growth. This analysis may be a useful base for the Baltic States’ political and economic macro-level decision making as it may help to find the possible direction to revive economy while supporting tourism and to go towards the economic growth.</p>
ARTICLEtruehttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2023.402024-01-14T00:00:00.000+00:00Host-Related Factors Influencing Airbnb Prices in Rural Areashttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2023.37
<title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> <p>The advent of the sharing economy has transformed the travel and lodging industry, with Airbnb emerging as a prominent player in this revolution. While numerous studies have examined factors influencing Airbnb pricing in urban areas, this research endeavors to explore the determinants of Airbnb property prices in rural Lithuania, focusing on often-neglected host-related variables. Through a comprehensive analysis of host attributes, the research aims to provide insights into how hosts influence pricing decisions in these unique, often underrepresented contexts. Using data collected from Vilnius and Kaunas counties, Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression was employed to investigate the relationship between host characteristics and property prices. Findings challenge some conventional assumptions. Specifically, research shows that ratings of hosts or “Superhost” status had no significant effect on property pricing; the number of reviews was associated with lower property prices. Contrary to common expectations, the quality of host communication was not found to significantly influence pricing decisions. Strict property policies were also found near higher prices. Interesting results were found analyzing host gender influence on price - female hosts were found charging higher prices in Lithuanian rural areas. This research extends our understanding of Airbnb pricing dynamics and is invaluable for both hosts seeking to optimize their pricing strategies and travelers navigating unique geographical contexts.</p>
ARTICLEtruehttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2023.372024-01-14T00:00:00.000+00:00Mechanisms for Preventing Disinformation in Public Administration: Current Issueshttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2023.45
<title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> <p>The article examines the current mechanisms of combating disinformation in public administration and suggests ways to improve them.
