This study analyses the impact of labour income tax cuts on employment in the context of technological progress using a general equilibrium model calibrated for the European Union economic zone. The simulation results show that labour income tax cuts have a positive effect on employment, especially at lower levels of automation, but that this effect weakens with increasing levels of automation. The study reveals that while tax cuts stimulate economic activity and partly compensate for the loss of tax revenue through increased consumption and investment, there is a persistent negative impact on government revenue. This points to the need to find alternative sources of tax revenue to ensure the sustainability of public finances in the context of technological progress.</p>
ARTICLEtruehttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.542024-12-30T00:00:00.000+00:00Innovative Management of Eco-Projects of Quality and Sustainable Development of the Entrepreneurial Potential of Integrated Structures in Smart Technologies of the Information Bio-Economyhttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.45
<title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> <p>The article considers the value of forecasting the net income from the sale of products in innovative eco-projects through the lens of modern mathematical models. The study examines the degree to which current subsidies enhance revenue generated from core business operations and their impact on farm profitability, with a focus on differences related to farm size. To achieve these objectives, two indicators, including the nominal direct support coefficient (NDSC) and return on assets (ROA), were used. The effect of current subsidies on RAO was measured as the difference between the values of indicator calculated “with subsidies” (reflecting the actual situation) and “without subsidies”. The findings indicate significant variation in the effectiveness of current subsidies across farms, suggesting a distortion of competitive conditions from an economic perspective.</p>
ARTICLEtruehttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.432024-12-30T00:00:00.000+00:00Cooperation in Forming the Social and Economic Welfare of Rural Territorial Communitieshttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.49
<title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> <p>Activation of the development of cooperation as a form and mechanism of integration of business entities requires a strategic orientation to take into account economic, material, technical, social and institutional determinants.</p> <p>The purpose of the study is to substantiate the theoretical and methodological foundations and develop applied approaches to the activation of cooperative processes in the organization of improving the social and economic well-being of territorial communities. The need to implement digital technologies, automation and digital resource management, which contributes to increasing the productivity and competitiveness of agricultural enterprises, is substantiated. Legal risks associated with data protection and intellectual property management are considered, as well as the need to integrate innovative education to train specialists capable of working in the conditions of the Smart economy. It has been proven that the clustering of enterprises makes it possible to implement innovations more efficiently, optimize production processes and minimize costs, which contributes to the sustainable development of the agricultural sector. It is recognized that the use of the modified distribution method of the closed type allows to optimize the comparison of the forecasted volumes of production with the available actual resources of agricultural enterprises. In the conditions of growing digitalization, this approach contributes to increasing the efficiency of resource allocation due to more accurate accounting of actual indicators and forecasted needs. It was emphasized that the model of cluster development of agricultural enterprises in combination with new technologies, such as Smart economy, allows enterprises to join forces to increase competitiveness and optimize production processes.</p>
ARTICLEtruehttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.472024-12-30T00:00:00.000+00:00The Dynamics of the Real Estate Market: The Impact of Price Changes on Consumer Decisions to Purchase Housinghttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.50
<title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> <p>The real estate market has recently undergone significant changes that influence consumer behavior. The aim of the study is to assess the dynamics of the real estate market and to investigate how changes in housing prices affect consumers’ intentions to purchase real estate in the near future, investigating the case of Lithuania. The research methods of scientific literature analysis, statistical data analysis, regression analysis, and logical conclusion formulation are employed. The study’s results revealed trends in the growth of real estate market prices in Lithuania. A positive relationship was established between the increase in housing prices and Lithuanian consumers’ intentions to buy or build a home within the next 12 months. Although it may seem that rising housing prices could negatively impact intentions to purchase, the study’s findings suggest that the factor of increasing prices may encourage purchasing decisions, as consumers, seeing upward price trends, do not want to miss the opportunity to buy before prices rise further. They may view prices as an investment opportunity or trust the improving economic situation.</p>
ARTICLEtruehttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.502024-12-30T00:00:00.000+00:00Dynamic Model of the Economy in the Conditions of Ecologization of Production and Consumption Processeshttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.53
<title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> <p>The need for greening the modern economy and developing the ecological economy in the future, in which production and consumption processes would be ecologically and socially balanced, is substantiated. Taking into account that ecological and economic systems belong to complex objects of research, the relevance of improving existing and developing new methodologies for their study, in particular development of modeling, which in combination with modern information technologies, has wide opportunities for the study of such objects, is emphasized. The dynamic model of the economy has been developed, under the conditions of environmentalization of production and consumption, which is formalized in the space of ecological and economic variables, taking into account the socio-economic clustering of society. Conceptually, the model is built in such a way that a number of modified models can be offered on its basis. Models of this class are intended for qualitative and quantitative analyzes of the processes of ecological and economic interaction that take place in the studied economy. Simulation experiments with such models make it possible to obtain fundamentally important results regarding the behavior of ecological-economic systems, in particular, to identify general patterns and trends in the development of the economy in the conditions of its environmentalization, which serves as a valuable information base for the development of possible scenarios of ecological-economic development and support for making managerial decisions regarding improvement of the ecological and economic situation in real practice.</p>
ARTICLEtruehttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.532024-12-30T00:00:00.000+00:00Assessment of the Influence of Socio-Economic Factors on the Level of Agro-Food Productshttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.32
<title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> <p>Using the methodology of correlation and regression analysis and statistical data of indicators of development of regions of Ukraine, the influence of socio-economic factors (as a factor variable) on the level of consumption of agro-food products (effective variable) is studied. Correlations between the level of consumption of agro-food products (poultry meat) and socio-economic factors in the regions of Ukraine have been established. An assessment of the quality of a multifactorial regression model between socio-economic factors and the volume of consumption of agro-food products (poultry meat) was carried out. The percentage range of fluctuations between the influence of socio-economic and other factors on the volume of consumption of agro-food products has been determined. It is proposed on the basis of assessment of the quality of the multifactorial regression model and the calculated coefficient of determination of the grouping of regions according to methodological approaches to clustering. As the main parameters for grouping, the value of the coefficient of determination is allocated and grouped into five models of regional development. The results of the conducted research are quite important for the processes of ensuring socio-economic security and the formation and implementation of regional development programs.</p>
ARTICLEtruehttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.322024-10-09T00:00:00.000+00:00Adaptation to Climate Change in Rural China to Enhance the Welfare Effects of Clean Energy Transition Considering Topography and E-Commercehttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.28
<title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> <p>The purpose of this paper is to explore the welfare effects of clean energy adoption, especially its impact on the environment, economy and farmers’ production and life. Additionally, it explores the adaptation to climate change in rural China. In this study, a differentially differential model is used to effectively separate the welfare effects of clean energy by comparing the changes before and after the promotion of clean energy. The results are as follows. (1) the adoption of clean energy can increase the income of rural production and living energy by 43.90% and reduce rural carbon emissions by 33.00%. (2) At present, the impact of rural clean energy adoption on farmers’ health and rural energy use efficiency has not been shown. (3) The proportion of clean energy in mountain areas (57.69%) is much lower than that in plain areas (84.21%), and the use of traditional energy in plain areas is reduced to 15.79%. Mountain residents, migrant workers can make them understand the different rural energy use situation from the local area. The popularity of e-commerce in both plain and mountainous areas has a significant impact, and the impact on plain areas is greater than that in mountainous areas. This study not only provides a scientific evaluation method for the welfare effects of clean energy, but also provides theoretical support and practical guidance for the future energy policy formulation and the promotion and application of clean energy.</p>
ARTICLEtruehttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.282024-10-09T00:00:00.000+00:00Interplay of Student Intended Career Paths and University Entrepreneurial Environment in Developed, Transition, and Developing Economieshttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.27
<title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> <p>To explain the evolution of student entrepreneurship, this paper investigates how student intended career paths interrelate with university entrepreneurial environment in three country groups: developed economies, economies in transition, and developing economies. Empirical analysis is built on data of the Global University Entrepreneurial Spirit Students’ Survey (GUESSS), collected in 2018. Selected sample comprises of 198426 students from 31 countries, from which 15 are developed economies, 2 – economies in transition, and 14 – developing economies. Business creation related career aspirations, ongoing entrepreneurial activities, and university entrepreneurial environment are examined using statistical analysis methods for evaluating the association between distinguished country groups and entrepreneurial characteristics of students. According to results obtained, statistically significant differences exist among students from countries of different economic development level. Students in developing economies and economies in transition have considerably greater aspirations towards entrepreneurial career and activities. They also evaluate the courses on entrepreneurship and university entrepreneurial environment significantly more favourably than students in developed countries do. Students in less developed regions are also those who more frequently choose entrepreneurship specific education, which suggests that they more actively leverage university offerings to realise their higher entrepreneurial aspirations.</p>
ARTICLEtruehttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.272024-10-09T00:00:00.000+00:00Decent Work Achievement During the Post-War Recoveryin Ukraine Regionshttps://sciendo.com/article/10.15544/mts.2024.41
<title style='display:none'>Abstract</title> <p>The problem of creating decent work conditions in all regions of Ukraine is a key factor in the country’s socio-economic recovery in the post-war period.
